Baby Bowls are used by mothers and in infant care for decades. They are easy to play and small in size. Pre-birth, they can be held against mother’s bulge, bringing such delight to baby that hearing that sound after birth increases its calming and healing power.

Children up to 7yrs particularly benefit from playing pentatonic music, it helps them to adjust to their growing capacities and potential in the world. I love this scale myself and will often choose a 7string bowl to improvise an evening away.

Sycamore has mothering energy. Connected to Jupiter it has a warm, expansive and ordering nature. This piece is unusual in that the tree it came from is still living, having survived losing a large limb in 2013. From this limb over a dozen Sounding Bowls have been made. This bowl has been taken to visit its mother-tree at Hawkwood College in Stroud, England.
