The Space Between — a Weekend Retreat:

N.B. Though held and facilitated by Tobias, this is not a Sounding Bowls workshop.
The Space Between follows the Saturn Path teaching of Rudolf Steiner – An Invitation to Spirit Awakening.
Beyond all theory, we find the opening of the human heart to the profound wisdom of our own being.
Deep listening to each other opens our ears to the space between us, the domain-of-origin for our true being.
This weekend workshop consists of deep-listening circles where the emphasis is on sharing experience. Enquiring into who it is that I am, in this moment, witnessed by others, creates a deep-listening, resonance-community, an Open Space, where we find ourselves received and mirrored in each other’s experience. — What it means to be human – and becoming more of that together – is the focus of this workshop.
The Open Space is High Teaching. Only those who know Silence hear it.
Silence is the Gateway. Speaking prepares the stairway.
Only in the space between can this Gateway appear
As well as meditative reflection and sharing in the group, participants will be invited to work with Steiner’s Foundation Stone meditation as a gateway into enquiry. There will also be opportunities to explore through sound and/or movement, or art. These will be supported, discovery sessions where no previous experience is necessary.
Preparing food, eating together and clearing up together provides a practical and social anchor for the deep sharing we will be doing. Hands-on work like this forges strong bonds which can continue far beyond the weekend.
Tobias is developing these techniques from a life-time’s work with Steiner’s spiritual path. The question of regenerating the Saturn Path, so popular among his close followers 100 years ago, has been alive with Tobias for over 40 years. Working together with others, the true nature of this subtle Way to engage our chosen life-path, for the good of our community as well as our own progress, is being rediscovered, re-developed. Scott Peck’s Community Building workshops, and circle work with Movement of Being, built experience and helped to identify working dynamics that Steiner had clearly understood and pointed his acolytes towards. Filtering the best of these out, and enriching them with Steiner’s wisdom-work, Tobias is developing a format that has been fruitful in individual lives since first held.
Before entering into this life, we all spent time with the archangels in the Great Circle of Saturn, who helped us to sculpt our journey into and through this incarnation, designing the best journey to further our long-term spiritual goals: manifesting our potential as Love, conducting our own creativity towards the good of all. Through this Saturn Path Enquiry work, our inner ears become attuned again to the guidance these Saturn Beings offered us when we first committed to the life-path we are now on.
We have been running such circles 4x a year since 2024. We call them “The Space Between” a retreat into the deep and simple spiritual practice of meeting each other. We practice Deep Listening, heart-centred speaking. Thus, seeking the Christ who promised to enter into the space between. This June we will form our 7th circle. Whoever is there will be part of that church, will be one window from the space we create into the light of the Cosmic Spirit, the Holy Sophia. You could be one. It does not need anyone special. It is especially good if you are not special. It is not our skills or outstanding abilities that make this work, it is our common humanity, our willingness to Listen.
