Melody Bowl in Cherry

Description

With nine strings this bowl has a good range for singing with. Cherry gives a light and sweet tone, as you may hear in the sound-sample below. I used a 9 string for lullabies with my children for years, but they are also a firm favourite with music therapists in hospice and dementia care.

The ancient Pentatonic scales work particularly well on nine strings. These scales have no dissonance, meaning you cannot hit a wrong note, anything and everything you do sounds harmonious and good.

Nine notes can be tuned to a major or minor scale as well, pain and sorrow are more easily expressed in scales that offer dissonance as well as harmony.
