Lyre Bowl in Birch

Bowl-734
Description
Birch is the most lyrical and emotive of woods. Lyre Bowls in Birch touch the emotions more deeply than other woods. The rich, warm colours of this one are unusual, Birch is often plain creamy white.
Lyre Bowls with 11 strings have a rich enough sound for Sound-Baths. Set in the triad tuning, below, you can spiral around a seated person, immersing them in the overtone-harmonies. This can often profoundly change their state-of-being. – As seen here with a larger bowl.
Ancient pentatonic tunings make the bowl very easy to play, there are no “wrong notes” – listen below. Used for work songs in the Hebrides, right up to the end of the 20th century, pentatonic tunings are lyrical and full of open good feeling.
Modern tunings in the Major/minor system have more emotional complexity. The tuning below in E-flat Major gives a rich and folksy feel to the bowl. Your manual illustrates many more tunings for you to explore.
This bowl comes in a hard case, soft lined and flight-proof to protect it from everyday weathering and occasional damage at no extra cost.
Listen in the ‘Triads’ or ‘Gong tuning’
Listen in a Hebridean pentatonic tuning
Listen in Eb Major, a diatonic tuning.
