Heart Bowl in Ash

Description

Heart Bowls have the most intimate sound of all.  With eleven strings, this size is particularly rich and warm, beyond any expectation of an instrument of this size. The choice of tunings includes the ancient Celtic ‘pentatonic’ scale, whose sonorous harmonies add profundity, either as music or as therapy. In the lightweight body, the vibrations come through your hands, as well as to your ears.

Ash adds an inner confidence to the sound. Making it immediately available to the feeling heart. The sound is so rich that no musical skill of any kind is required to make music. Just plucking a string or three, or adding a little rhythm in sequence, makes it sound like composed music.

This particular Heart Bowl shown has now sold. In our settling room we have further pieces of Ash, rough-formed and ready to be finished. Any one of these will make you an astonishing, engaging, and moving musical instrument.
