The Saturn Path, an outline.
The Saturn Path is a Way of spiritual awakening within this life experience.
Practiced as deep-listening circles, each one ‘seeded’ with a different quiet wisdom, it combines the gifts you get from meditation, psychotherapy and spiritual practice. It is a focussed Way of deep-attention that opens the spirit-ears.
Being practical in applying yourself to this life’s tasks while also awakening spiritually is the Way for this age. We learn and grow through contributing our spiritual growth to this earthly life. At work, as at home, life faces us with challenge after challenge. Each one is specifically designed for us and brought as a gift from our guiding beings. Before this life began, we worked with these beings to consciously create a life through which we can best grow towards the future strength we know we are capable of. Life by life we pursue these aims and become stronger in love. Eventually, Love, HimSelf, reaches into the World HerSelf, through us, through our deeds, through our very being.
There are many Ways to awakening. The Saturn Path is Rudolf Steiner’s final offering. At the end of his decades of teaching, leading and lecturing all over Europe he showed a Way that needs no guru or teacher, needs no study or knowledge, but lies in our own ability to listen to each other. As such it combines the way of in-the-moment-awareness with the way of wisdom. Truly, deeply, listening to this extraordinary spiritual being, in this human body, here in this circle/in front of us, is the act of love, that brings these two together.
Listening is something we rarely do completely well. In everyday life it is considered sensible to interpret what we hear by what think is true. When we create conditions for a true and deep listening, when we learn to listen from the silence we achieve in meditation, then everything we hear takes on new and deeper meaning. Our spirit-ears are opened, and we understand our own life, our own guides better than ever before. – Maybe even in a whole new way.
Rudolf Steiner’s early work teaches many ways to come to your own centre, to find your inner strength and open your subtle eyes to the spirit. That spiritual world where your own guides attend your every move, waiting patiently for your attention. Through the Saturn Path we add strength and support to these in the act of turning back towards each other. A deed of love, where the practice of listening opens our spiritual ears to those spirit-guides who most understand our own life-plan.
This life we are living is a centre-point. Around this point there are many circles. The spirit-guides who most understand our own life-plan see us from the outermost circle, from the very essence of our greatest potential. This outermost circle is known as Saturn, or ‘the Saturn-sphere.’ The orb around us created by the endless circling of that planetary body, itself the furthest-out of the Children of the Sun. Saturn, like everything else, is full of Being. These ‘archangels’ of the great circle of Saturn hold our life-path, our chosen destiny for us and are waiting in loving patience for us to pay attention.
Here, in the midst of our everyday life, we can form a circle of human individuals to open our ears to the Great Circles from which our true, essential being is formed, and hear again, through each other, and in our deepest inner quiet, what it is that really matters in this, the life that I am leading, now, today.
